     Kannawidan is an annual event held in the Philippine province of Ilocos Sur. The festival is well-known for its historical and cultural significance. It honors the province's rich history and highlights its unique traditions and customs. Locals and visitors alike can enjoy the festival's diverse cultural performances, parades, and street dances that highlight the region's history, music, and cuisine. 

Kannawidan, in addition to honoring Ilocos Sur's heritage, provides an opportunity to celebrate the province's thriving present and future. A festival wherein a showcase of indigenous performances, religious rituals, as well cooking demos featuring the best Ilocos dishes.

The ability of Kannawidan to protect and promote the rich cultural history of Ilocos Sur is what gives it its cultural significance. The festival serves as a showcase for the area's distinctive customs and traditions, as well as its folk music, dancing, and food. Ilocos Sur, which is home to a number of different ethnic groups, including the Ilocanos, Tingguians, and Igorots, celebrates its cultural variety with Kannawidan. 

      

The festival also celebrates significant historical occurrences in the region, it celebrates Ilocos Sur’s abundant traditions, and its separation from Ilocos Norte, and including the Philippine Revolution and Spanish colonization. The festival illustrates the historical significance of Ilocos Sur in moulding Philippine history through street dances and parades. Additionally, Kannawidan serves as a vehicle for advancing the regional economy, particularly the agriculture and tourist sectors of the province. During the festival, visitors can sample regional cuisine and purchase handicrafts made in the area, thereby supporting the local economy.

 

And there, it is clearly understood, Kannawidan will always play a huge part on every part of the natives. The event benefits the local economy while also providing residents and tourists with the opportunity to learn about the province's rich cultural heritage. Kannawidan allows the people of Ilocos Sur to celebrate the present, reflect on the past, and look forward to the future. It is evidence of the region's cultural resilience as well as a warning about the importance of safeguarding our shared cultural heritage.

       Finally,  the second quarter of my school year has passed. Means another great memory created, and I'm planning to keep it that way. Although I might not have been that great in my academics, I still learned a lot. So it's safe to say that I still did great xD.   I can't really say anything that happened. In short, nothing really memorable happened to me this past quarter, quarter 2.  Well, maybe the time that my whole bag got contaminated by some unpleasant "thing". It was truly humiliating, disgusting, and infuriating. Although I got through that situation just fine.  To what I have learned is that anyone of us can be a light that brings brightness to someone, no matter of how bright or dim that light may be, it'll grow brighter and brighter as long as you are given the much support and comfort you need. And so I will continue, and be a light to many. Specially to those who are struggling, trying to survive(Wow ha) this past quarter....

         For many Christians, as myself, my family and relatives, Holy Week is a deeply spiritual and emotional time. It is a time to reflect on the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to renew our faith. Many churches hold special services and ceremonies during Holy Week, which can be powerful and moving experiences for those who attend live us. During Holy Week, we engage in personal acts of devotion, such as fasting or abstaining from certain foods or activities. This is done as a way of reflecting on the sacrifice that Jesus made for humanity and as a way of deepening one's personal relationship with God. And so, Holy Week is a time for Christians to come together in prayer, reflection, and worship, and to deepen their faith as they prepare to celebrate the joy and hope of Easter. My Personality         This personality and behavior I have now is all thanks to the group I admire the most which is Bangtan Sonyeondan or most known as BTS. I learned a lot of things from them. Back then, I have this "I should start when the right time comes" mentallity… but this phenomenal septet Kpop boy group taught me the complete opposite - I should start now, "I should start where I am now with what I have now". The most important thing is to get started not next year, not next month, not when Monday comes, but get started… NOW!!. BTS started 8 years ago, debuting in a small, in the pit of bankcruptcy agency. Instead of pushing themselves to get into bigger companies, they accepted the opportunity given to them by a smaller company and work hard until they finally make something out of nothing.     Another important thing I learned from them is persistence.
